ATAK Mesh Radio Node

This little radio, weighing in at just over three ounces, lets you establish an off-grid communications system based on mesh networking technology.

With one 18650 battery, you can communicate using text messages or ATAK for multiple days depending on your usage, at ranges up to several kilometers. A built-in GPS keeps your team updated with your position.

This radio interfaces with an Android device over Bluetooth, and requires you to install an application on your phone to use. The radio itself is pre-programmed and ready to go out of the box once you add an 18650 battery (not included).

The case is sealed with a gasket at the antenna port, and another gasket between the cover and the body of the case to survive wet weather.

The radio can be ordered assembled or as a kit. Assembling the kit requires only a way to tighten the nut that secures the antenna mount in place - otherwise it can be done entirely by hand. The case only option includes the 3D printed case as well as the gasket material and an O ring to improve water-resistance.
